Elimination Diet- Allergies and Weight Gain

A little over one month ago I started what is called an "Elimination Diet" to test for allergies. The way it works is to eliminate all foods from your diet that are common allergens like: Dairy, wheat, soy, eggs, refined sugars, peanuts, caffeine, and citrus. Most people wonder what they CAN eat because by looking at the list your options seem pretty slim. So, you CAN eat rice, quinoa, millet, beans, veggies, fruits, unrefined sugars (in moderation), fish and other types of meat, and anything else that doesn't have the allergy causing foods in them. Once you have successfully kept the allergen foods out of your diet for 2-3 weeks, then you begin to re-introduce each food back into your diet one at a time.
The reasons my doctor put me on this diet: Unexplained hives and rash after meals, eczema, GI issues.
Since I have been on this special diet EVERY one of those symptoms has gone away!!! Plus, my anxiety levels have gone down. I never realized that my anxiety and panic attacks could be caused by FOOD! I have realized that MILK makes me anxious and so does WHEAT.
Also, as an extra added bonus, I have lost 6 lbs effortlessly! I didn't have to sweat for hours in the gym, I just ate clean.
My theory on the weight loss has to do with digestion and chemicals in food. When our digestion slows down then weight gain can occur. Also, food additives can affect weight as well. By eating "clean", meaning "unprocessed" foods, I have been able to rid myself of annoying allergies AND lose weight!
Here are some common symptoms one could have from food allergies:
-Fatigue
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Obesity
-Insomnia
-Food Cravings
-Chronic sinus issues
-IBS
-High blood pressure
-Acne
-Eczema
-Hives
-Canker Sores
-Arthritis
-Migraines or other headaches
-Numbness
-Teeth grinding
-Asthma
I think EVERYONE should test for allergies, if for nothing else but to detox from all the crap we eat on a daily basis and start anew! I believe everyone has things going on in their body that is food allergy related. It's worth a try!

What is This?

This is my new blog! I was thinking today, and everyday, about my life experiences- big or small, and have always wanted an outlet to be able to share these lessons I have learned. I keep thinking I want to write a book, but I think I am too busy, or impatient for a book. A book would takes years to write, and I want people to hear me now! So this is my "daily" book. I can write in it every day. I can share the things I have learned that may be helpful to others in their life whether it be weight loss, issues with God, friendship, marriage, buisness, whatever! If I learn it, you can read it, and maybe you can learn it too. We all learn from eachother, and you probably know more than I do, so you can share with me too. That's the beauty of blogging!
